Practice Manager/Reception/Dispensing Staff | ||
When you phone or visit the surgery the first people you will speak to will be the reception/dispensing staff. They are Mous Van Gelder, Pam Thomson, Suzanne Parker, Susan Wishart, and Shevaun Rosie. They will deal with your requests and questions and any information left with them is treated in strictest confidence. Lorna Whyte is the Practice Manager and oversees the smooth running of the practice.

Community Nurses | ||
Community Nurses provide a service to those patients that have a nursing need within their home setting. The East team Community Nursing team is based at the Balfour Hospital, Kirkwall and also have a base at Daisy Villa Surgery. The community nursing service operates 7 days a week 08:30 - 17:00 hours, can be contacted by telephoning 01856 831513 or 01856 888191, (answer phone if nurses out on calls) . There is an out of hours community nursing service which can be contacted via NHS24 on Free call 111. Sylvia Tomison is the main community nurse. |

Community Mental Health |

The Community mental health team can be contacted directly on 01856 888280. Patients can self refer and can be referred by their doctor. The teams remit includes assessment and management of mental health conditions, dementia, drug abuse and alcohol abuse. The team comprises of a psychiatrist, community psychiatrist nurses, psychologist and drug/alcohol specialist nurses. | ||
Community Link Worker | ||
Linsey Drever is Daisy Villa's Community Link Worker. Her role is to help you find out about, and access services to improve your health and well being. Services might include: accessing community groups, advice about money and benefits, coping as a carer or housing. She can also put you in touch with services that can help you talk through your worries or problems, such as isolation, loneliness or relationship difficulties. To access this service please ask your GP or Practice Nurse. | ||
Pharmacist | ||
Lyndsay Steel is Daisy Villa's Primary Care Pharmacist. She assesses patients medications, focusing on maximising benefit and minimising risk associated with medicines as well as making the best use of resources allocated for medicines.
